The homepage link was difficult to find on the splash page, so there's strike one. The headline news section on the homepage is really long, in my opinion. Strike two. I can't seem to find anything else wrong with it though. It looks to be a very efficient site that keeps the viewer up to date on everything that is The Patriots. It has current football news and plenty of things to look at. In fact, I don't think this site is lacking in entertainment value at all, b/c they have video, sound, image galleries, and many other things to feed the eye. It looks like a good site to me, if only I were a football fan.

This site gives off a very crisp, clean feel. The color palette and the fonts used make it seem elegant and high class. It's not hard to find what I'm looking for on this site and it doesn't have a lot of annoying advertisements like a lot of hotel sites have. But then this is The Plaza, so they don't really need to host ads for anything. I this site speaks for itself and lends to the richness of the hotel quite nicely.
Restaurant - Buca di Beppo

Now here is a website that matches and compliments the restaurant itself. The site is warm and inviting, keeping to the color scheme of red, cream, and brown colors. The layout is simple and easy to read as well.
They have the full menu listed with the lunch, dinner, and beverages sections. I think that works in their favor because it gives prospective customers (ones who have never been the restaurant) a chance to see just what kind of Italian food they serve.
The only problem I have with this site is that it really doesn't do the experience of eating at the restaurant justice. I wish it showed more images of the interior of the building and the different themed rooms that the restaurant has.
Travel Booking - Travelocity

Upon first glance this site looks very busy. There are ads and links, and things everywhere; and it's a little difficult to decide where my eyes should focus first. It is, however, easy to navigate, which is a plus.
I'm not a big fan of the large mass of blue space on the right side of my screen, but I assume it look different when not on a widescreen monitor. The layout for each page stays pretty much the same, but it is rather small and the information does look a bit cramped.

Art Museum - The British Museum
The British Museum; whenever I think of this I think of either Indiana Jones and his constant "It belongs in a museum" line or The Mummy with the character Evelyn Carnahan always trying to get a job there, iirc. At any rate, this museum is one place I would like to visit one day.As far as their website goes, it looks very professional and up to date. It's straight forward and easy to follow, which is always a plus, and it doesn't appear to be Flash heavy. There's a different color scheme for each page. There is a main nav bar on the top and a subnav bar on the side, which has more links. The only time the subnav changes is on the "Explore" page when there's isn't a side navbar, instead there's a subnav under the main nav.
It's not text heavy or image heavy by any means; they definitely know how to lay out a website to make it work in the best way possible. I think this is a good example of a well done, functional museum website and I would be very surprised if such a renowned museum had anything less than this.

Gossip - People
Ah yes, gossip magazines and their websites. The place where common people like us go to live vicariously through the lives of the rich and famous. Everything about this website is design to grab your attention, from the vibrant blue background to the images and headlines. In fact, the website itself just seems like an extension of the magazine. My god, even as I'm supposed to be reviewing this site I keep getting sucked in and reading silly articles. I think that goal has been successfully pulled off by the creators of People.
So, back to the review...the layout is dynamic and gets the eye floating from headline to headline without much difficulty. They have intriguing photos to catch the eye and superficial articles. That's all I can really say about it. Everything about gossip magazines are supposed to be shallow and I think this site pulls that off very well.
Real Estate - Ebby Halliday
It seems to me that there's a lot going on just on the first page. There's the main navigation, side navigation and a whole bunch of links for the main content. True the links are all about finding the perfect home or finding the right real estate agent, but still there are a lot of links none the less. The content on each sub page lays out basically the same with only a few changes depending on the content itself. It seems everything is pretty much justified left. Actually the entire website is justified left, which leaves a gaping white space to the right of the screen. Honestly, I think this can be changed in order to keep from having to scroll down so much and to limit the amount of dead space that takes over.
There are a couple elements of Flash used, but only on certain pages. All in all though, it's not a bad website, it's not pretty, but since most people who come there are only interested in buying houses and whatnot, it doesn't need to be overly decorated.
